SNAP/EBT and GF4L

What is SNAP/EBT?

SNAP is an acronym for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program which is governed by USDA. These benefits are distributed to qualifying customers on an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.

Fresh food for all.

One of our continuing Market missions is to be accessible for our entire community because everyone should have access to fresh, locally-grown and produced food.

For EBT customers, we offer SNAP benefits in the form of tokens you can purchase at our information table located in the center of the Market. These tokens are accepted by the majority of eligible, full-time vendors, and you can see the complete list below.

Dollar-for-Dollar.

We have partnered with Wholesome Wave GA’s Georgia Fresh For Less (GF4L) program to double SNAP/EBT benefits for our community.

For our Market visitors, simply purchase the amount of EBT you choose, and Wholesome Wave will match your EBT dollars, dollar-for-dollar, with free tokens for fresh and local fruits and vegetables. For example, swipe $10 and you will receive $10 EBT tokens and $10 in GF4L tokens that can be used on fruits and vegetables.

Vendor Reimbursement.

All participating vendors are fully reimbursed by the Bartow County UGA Extension office by turning in their tokens to the Market team.
